Daily, Weekly or Monthly Car Rental in North Cyprus: Which Is Cheapest?

The same car costs wildly different amounts depending on how you book it. Here is where each pricing tier stops making sense and the next one takes over.

There is a moment in every booking where you pick a number of days, and that single choice moves the price more than the car you choose. Daily, weekly and monthly car rental in North Cyprus are not the same product priced by length — they are three different rate cards, and the crossover points are not where people assume.

Daily rental: under four days

The daily rate is the highest per-day figure you will pay, and it exists for short, specific trips — a weekend in Kyrenia, a two-day drive to Famagusta and back, a business visit to Nicosia.

It makes sense up to about three days. Past that, the arithmetic starts arguing with you.

Weekly rental: the crossover nobody checks

This is the one that surprises people. Weekly car rental in North Cyprus is priced well below seven daily rates — often far enough below that a five or six day trip is literally cheaper booked as a full week.

If your trip is five days, price both. Not "compare them" — actually price both, because on many bookings the week costs less in absolute terms and you keep the car two extra days for nothing. It is the closest thing to free money in car hire.

Monthly rental: from about three weeks

Monthly car rental in North Cyprus is a separate product with its own rate card, well below thirty daily rates. The logic is simple: a car on a long booking is not being cleaned, moved and re-let every three days, and that efficiency comes back as price.

It typically includes:

  • Comprehensive insurance for the whole term
  • Servicing and maintenance — scheduled work is ours, not yours
  • A replacement vehicle if yours is off the road
  • Free delivery and collection across North Cyprus
  • No road tax, no registration paperwork, no resale problem

Who actually books it: students at Eastern Mediterranean University in Famagusta and the Nicosia campuses, remote workers on three to six month stays, property owners in İskele and Esentepe who would otherwise leave a car standing eleven months a year, and companies rotating staff through Lefkoşa.

The rough shape of it

  • 1–3 days — daily rate, no way around it
  • 4–6 days — price the full week anyway; it often wins
  • 7–20 days — weekly rate, possibly two weeks
  • 21+ days — ask for monthly pricing, it is not on the booking calendar

That last point matters. Long-term rates are quoted, not listed, because they depend on duration, vehicle category and start date. If you are staying a month or more and you book through the standard calendar, you will overpay — message us with your dates instead.

What does not change with length

Whichever tier you land in, these stay the same with us: comprehensive insurance included, free delivery to Ercan Airport, Kyrenia, Nicosia, Famagusta, İskele, Esentepe, Güzelyurt and Lefke, free cancellation, and 24/7 support in English, Turkish, Russian and German.

Two things that move the price more than length

Season. July, August and the Christmas–New Year window are peak across every tier. Spring and autumn give you better driving weather and lower rates simultaneously — late September and October in particular.

How far ahead you book. The island's fleet is finite. Two to three weeks ahead in peak season is the single largest saving available, and automatics are the first category to sell out.

Get the length right and the timing right, and you are paying close to the floor for car hire in North Cyprus without renting a worse car.

Frequently asked questions

Is weekly car rental cheaper than daily in North Cyprus?

Substantially. Weekly rates sit well below seven daily rates, so a five or six day trip is often literally cheaper booked as a full week — and you keep the car the extra days at no cost. Always price both.

When does monthly car rental become worth it?

From around three weeks. Monthly rental in North Cyprus is a separate rate card well below thirty daily rates, and it includes insurance, servicing and a replacement vehicle. It is not shown on the booking calendar, so ask for a quote.

What is the cheapest way to rent a car in North Cyprus?

Book two to three weeks ahead in peak season, price the full week even for a shorter trip, choose the economy category if two of you are travelling, and take a like-for-like fuel policy.
